RmP2 Personal Rosin Press: Step-by-Step Operational Guide
The RNP2 is a precision manual arbor press designed for high-quality botanical extraction. Following this standardized SOP ensures consistent yields and equipment longevity.
01. Initial Setup & Power
•Handle Installation: Insert the threaded handle bar into the arbor head and tighten until fully secure.
•Power Activation: Switch the unit to "I" (ON) at the rear. Keep the platens open (not touching) during the heating phase.
•Thermal Soak: Set your target temperature on the PID. Wait 10-15 minutes for the 3x3" plates to fully "heat-soak" for thermal stability.
02. Pressure Nut Calibration
Calibration is key to achieving the correct mechanical advantage:
•Initial Gap: Lower the handle until plates touch. Use the large wrench to adjust the pressure nut above the top platen. We recommend a 1/4" gap as a starting point.
•Fine Tuning: If the material requires more compression, further tighten the nut in small increments after the initial pre-heat.
03. Material & Micron Selection
•For Flowers: Use 90, 120, or 160-micron nylon filter bags for optimal flow.
•For Hash/Sift: Use 37-micron bags to ensure absolute purity and prevent particle contamination.
•Parchment Prep: Fold parchment to completely cover the 3x3" surface with enough excess for a drip edge.
04. Professional Extraction Technique
•Slow Ramp: Once material is inserted, lower the handle slowly. Take 20-30 seconds to reach full compression to prevent bag blowouts.
•The Hold: Maintain pressure for at least 90 seconds. Monitor the oil flow to determine the optimal release time.
•Collection: Raise the handle, remove the parchment, and use stainless steel or titanium tools to collect the "Liquid Gold." Store in airtight glass jars.
05. Cleaning & Shutdown
Maintenance Tip: After turning the unit OFF, allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Wipe the platens with isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel. Regular cleaning prevents carbon buildup and maintains heat accuracy.
Safety Warning: Platens remain extremely hot after use. Always wear eye protection and be cautious of steam when cleaning hot plates.
