RMP2 Rosin Press
RNP2 Usage Instructions

1. Insert the threaded handle bar into the tapped hole in the top of the arbor head until it's fully tight.
2. Turn the power switch on the bottom rear of the unit to the I (ON) position.
3. Lift the handle bar up so that both platens are not touching.
4. Adjust the temperature to your desired setting, and allow the unit 10-15 minutes to fully preheat the platens before use. (To set the temperature simply press the SET button on the PID module then use the UP and DOWN arrows to change the temperature and press SET once more to lock in your desired temperature)
5. When the unit is finished preheating, lower the handle bar down so that the platens touch, then use the large wrench to adjust the pressure nut located just above the top platen at the bottom of the arbor shaft. We recommend to start at 1/4" gap between the top and bottom plate.
6. Raise the handle bar up to open the platens once more.
7. Prepare your botanical material for pressing. Use either a nylon filter bag, or just a single botanical flower. Please note that use 37 micron filter bags when pressing hash, sift, or kief. For flowers, you can use 90, 120, or 160 microns.
8. Use a piece of parchment paper, folded, that completely covers the 3x3" platen surface area, with enough excess for folding and for a drip edge.
9. After the parchment paper is inserted in-between the platens, you can now add your botanical material in-between the parchment and platens, then lower the handle bar slowly to compress the botanical material in-between heated platens. We recommend to compress the material slowly, taking 20-30 seconds to fully compress the material.
10. If needed, you can further tighten the pressure nut to compress the material more than the 1/4" gap recommended to begin.
11. Allow the pressure to fully extract the essential oil for at least 90 seconds, and determine if you need to keep the pressure applied or raise the handle based on it's current production.
12. Once you are satisfied with the extraction, or once it appears to no longer be producing any more essential oil, raise the handle bar up and remove the compressed botanical material and remove the parchment paper for collection.
13. Use a food grade collection tool such as titanium or stainless steel wax carving or dab tools to collect the essential oil off of the parchment paper.
14. Place your collection into an air tight wide mouth glass container with a lid to preserve it.
15. To continue working, repeat steps 6-14, otherwise, turn OFF the power on the rear of the unit.
16. If needed, use isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel to wipe off the platens once the machine has cooled off for 5 minutes. Be careful not to burn yourself from steam or too hot of platens!
